kesar Pista Phirni Tarts

INGREDIENTS 
For Tart 
Maida /All Purpose Flour – 1 cup
Sugar – 2 tsp
Cold Unsalted Butter – 4 tbsp
Cold milk (as required) 

For Phirni 
Milk – 1 litre 
Sugar - 8 tbsp
Basmati Or Raw Rice - 3 tbsp
Cardamom powder - 1 tsp
Kesar strands 
Nuts for garnishing 


1.In a mixing bowl add Maida ,Unsalted Butter , sugar 
2. Mix all  the ingredients well ,Do not knead it
3. Add cold milk and make a semi soft dough 
4. Cover with a lid and Refrigerate for 30 Minutes 

For Phirni
1.Soak rice for 30 minutes
2. Drain off the water and grind them by adding little milk 
3. Make a coarse paste 
 4. In a Pan add Milk and stir continuously on slow flame
5. Scrape the sides
6. When milk starts to boil, add rice and Stir till rice cooks completely, and then add kesar strands
Once rice has cooked add Sugar 
Stir till sugar dissolves and comes to boil 
Add cardamom powder and mix well 
Phirni is ready! 

Tart Making 
Take out the dough from Refrigerator 
Knead and divide the dough into 3 portions 
Roll 1 portion into semi thick Chapati 
Dust some flour on the rolling board ,if the dough sticks 
Place the round in greased tins /bowls
Prick with a fork
Preheat pressure cooker on medium flame for 10 minutes(Without whistle and gasket )
Place the Tin on a stand or plate in a Preheated Pressure cooker 
Close the lid and Bake for 25 -30   Minutes on slow flame
Take out the tart once they are completely Baked 
Let it cool completely 
Demould them 
Fill the tarts with Phirni and garnish with Nuts ,Rose Petals , Kesar Strands .
